Connect YouTube

You connect YouTube to Voxpanda by signing in with the Google account that owns your channel and allowing Voxpanda to upload videos. The AI social media manager uses the official YouTube Data API, so uploads follow YouTube’s quota and policies. Only workspace owners and admins can connect a channel.

Steps

  1. Open Brands and select your brand.
  2. In Channels, under Connect an account, select YouTube.
  3. Choose the Google account that owns the YouTube channel.
  4. Allow both permissions: uploading videos and viewing your YouTube account.
  5. You return to the brand page with the message YouTube connected.

If you untick the upload permission, the connection stops with “YouTube upload permission was not granted”. Connect again and keep it ticked. After that, YouTube uploads are planned like any other channel in the multi-channel post calendar.

What each YouTube post needs

  • A video. Upload it in the post editor (max 500 MB).
  • A title. The editor shows YouTube needs a title until you add one. Titles are limited to 100 characters.
  • A description. The caption becomes the description, up to 5,000 bytes.

The editor checks these limits before you can select Schedule. The AI caption writer writes the title and description for you.

Limits to know

YouTube gives each app a daily quota per project. Uploads have their own bucket of 100 per day per project (checked 13 October 2026). The YouTube upload quota and other API limits article lists the full numbers.

Fix a broken connection

Google tokens are renewed automatically. When a renewal fails, the channel shows reconnect needed and scheduled uploads are on hold. Select Reconnect next to the channel and sign in again with the same Google account.

Questions

Why does Voxpanda say 'This Google account has no YouTube channel'?

The Google account you signed in with does not own a YouTube channel. Connect again and pick the Google account that owns the channel.

Does a YouTube post need a video?

Yes. YouTube accepts only video uploads, so a post without a video cannot be published there. Each upload also needs a title.

Can Voxpanda comment on other channels' YouTube videos automatically?

No. YouTube's Developer Policies require your approval before each comment on another channel's video.
