Can Voxpanda reply to Threads DMs?

No. Threads has no messaging API, so Voxpanda can reply to comments and mentions but not to direct messages.

What happens to captions longer than 500 characters on Threads?

Voxpanda splits them into a thread. The caption counter shows how many thread parts the post will have.

Do I need a separate login for Threads if Instagram is connected?

Yes. Threads is a separate channel with its own permissions, so you connect it with its own button.

Connect Threads to Voxpanda: steps and limits

You connect Threads to Voxpanda from the brand’s Channels card, by signing in on Threads and approving the posting and reply permissions. The AI social media manager then publishes to your profile and answers replies and mentions, following the official Threads API rules. The Threads automation page gives the full overview. Only workspace owners and admins can connect a channel.

Steps

Open Brands and select your brand.
In Channels, under Connect an account, select Threads.
Sign in on the Threads page and approve the permissions: basic profile, publishing, reading and managing replies, and managing mentions.
You return to the brand page with the message Threads connected.

If the platform shows as available after platform app review, the Threads button appears once Meta has approved Voxpanda’s app.

What Voxpanda does on Threads

Publishes posts. Threads allows 500 characters per post. Longer captions are split into a thread, and the caption counter shows the number of thread parts.
Replies to comments on your posts and to mentions. Answers come from your brand’s own sources. Questions the AI cannot answer go to your WhatsApp, and your reply is posted back on Threads. The auto-reply rules page explains the details.
Does not reply to DMs. Threads has no messaging API.

Limits to know

Threads allows 250 posts, 1,000 replies and 100 deletions per 24 hours per profile (checked 13 October 2026). Voxpanda keeps below these numbers. The full table is in the social media API limits article.

Fix a broken connection

Threads tokens are renewed automatically before they expire. When a renewal fails, the channel shows reconnect needed and scheduled posts on Threads are on hold. Select Reconnect next to the channel and approve the permissions again. You also receive a reconnect link by email or WhatsApp.
