Hook bank with a performance score for each brand
Voxpanda’s hook bank is a library of 1,200 opening lines that scores each hook by how posts using it performed for your brand, not for an average account. The hook bank feeds the post generator and the caption writer in Voxpanda, an AI social media manager that publishes through each platform’s official API and sends hard questions to the owner’s WhatsApp.
What is in the hook bank
The bank starts with 1,200 hooks written by Voxpanda: 800 in English and 400 in Indonesian. Each hook has placeholders, such as {audience}, {result}, {timeframe} and {mistake}, which the AI fills from your brief.
Hooks are filtered by five attributes, in the app and in the API:
| Attribute | Values |
|---|---|
| Type | 11 types, listed below |
| Funnel stage | awareness, consideration, conversion, retention |
| Platform | Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Bluesky |
| Industry | 8 categories at launch |
| Language and tone | English or Indonesian; casual, professional, playful, bold |
Public examples for each type are collected in the social media hook examples library.

How the performance score works
Each post stores the hook it used. Seven days after the post is published, Voxpanda compares the post’s engagement with your brand’s average over the previous 30 days.
- The comparison is a ratio. A ratio of 1.0 means the post matched your brand average.
- The ratios for one hook are combined with a Bayesian average. A hook used once is pulled toward your average, so it does not beat a hook tested on 10 posts.
- Scores are recalculated every day.
- Brands without data see a global score, built from anonymous results of all brands that allow sharing.
Because the baseline is your own average, a small account and a large account can both find their best hooks. The score measures what works for your audience.
Score labels in the app
Every hook shows one label next to its score.
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| New | the hook has not been used by your brand yet |
| Not enough data | fewer than 3 posts with this hook have reached day 7 |
| Tested, above average | your posts with this hook beat your brand average |
| Tested, average | your posts with this hook are close to your brand average |
| Tested, below average | your posts with this hook fall below your brand average |
How hooks are used in a post
When you create a post, the AI post generator suggests 3 hooks, sorted by score. You choose one, or the AI chooses on the higher autopilot levels. The weekly plan also picks hooks by score.
A hook with a high score can be expanded. Ask the AI for 5 variations of that hook, and the variations go into your private bank.
Private hooks and plans
Your own hooks are stored in a private bank for your brand and are not shared with other brands.
- Starter uses the global hook bank.
- Pro adds per-brand scores and private hooks.
- Agency adds a hook bank shared across client brands.

Questions
Where do the 1,200 hooks come from?
Voxpanda wrote them. The bank has 800 English and 400 Indonesian hooks, and none are copied from paid hook packs.
How is a hook's score calculated?
Seven days after a post goes live, Voxpanda compares its engagement with your brand's average for the previous 30 days. The ratios for each hook are combined with a Bayesian average, so a single lucky post cannot outrank a hook tested on many posts.
Does a new brand get useful scores before it has posts?
Yes. A new brand sees a global score, built from anonymous data of brands that allow sharing, until its own posts provide enough data.
Is a hook bank better than a static list of hooks?
A static list ranks hooks the same way for everyone. Voxpanda ranks hooks by how they performed on your account, so the suggestions change as your results come in.
Can I add my own hooks?
Yes. Your own hooks are saved in a private bank for your brand. On Pro and Agency plans they are scored like the built-in hooks.
